Unified Outreach & King County Behavioral Health's Annual Youth Runway Show: Summer Chill

Sunday July, 28th was one to remember as Unified Outreach, in collaboration with King County Behavioral Health, presented their much-anticipated Annual Youth Runway Show: Summer Chill. The vibrant event took place at Greenbridge PL in West Seattle, transforming 9800 8th Ave SW into a hub of creativity, fashion, and youthful energy.

Day One: Setting the Stage

Saturday, July 27th, 2 PM

The festivities kicked off on a sunny Saturday afternoon, welcoming a lively crowd eager to witness the fusion of fashion and performance art. Attendees were greeted with complimentary lunch, desserts, and beverages courtesy of Project Pizza Co. and Goode Girls Catering, setting the tone for an enjoyable day ahead.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Youth Runway Show, where young models took to the catwalk to showcase the latest designs. Self-Made Couture, known for its custom clothing, featured prominently alongside MAC Fashion House, impressing the audience with their innovative and stylish creations.

Day Two: The Grand Show

Sunday, July 28th, Event opens at 2 PM, Show begins at 3 PM

Sunday was a crescendo of excitement. As the venue opened at 2 PM, guests mingled and enjoyed another round of complimentary refreshments, this time provided by Project Pizza Co. and Our Empower. The anticipation built as the clock ticked towards the 3 PM showtime.

When the show began, the audience was treated to an array of live youth performances that added an extra layer of magic to the day. DJ ToxIc kept the energy high with an eclectic mix of beats, while the Vaesau Sisters captivated with a mesmerizing Polynesian dance. The stage then came alive with live music performances by the talented Scarface Khai and Niabella Goode, who both delivered powerful, crowd-pleasing sets.

The runway show was a feast for the eyes. We at Self-Made Couture provided some of the custom clothing for the models. MAC Fashion House and Free the Movement also impressed, each piece a testament to their creative prowess.

A Community Effort

The event was a shining example of community collaboration. Unified Outreach Seattle and students from Denny Middle School played crucial roles in organizing the event, showcasing the power of youth involvement. The event was supported by numerous local businesses and organizations, including Vibrant Art Magazine, Project Pizza Co., Goode Girls Catering, and Seattle Parks & Recreation, all contributing to the event’s success.
